About Ronja
Hello, I am Ronja, Dietician and Nutritional Therapist, 29 years old and married to my very best friend, who “imported” me to Switzerland a few years ago. My favourite colour is red and I like giraffes (maybe because of the hight?). After I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Ecotrophology, I decided to extend my education with a master’s degree in Nutritional Therapy.
Ecotrophology – as studied in Germany – is an extended form of Nutritional Science. Everything that has anything to do with food and nutrition is part of Ecotrophology as we know it. Subjects like Dietetics, Human Nutrition, Biochemistry and Bromatology (the science of preparing food) are part of it, but also Business Studies, Food Technology, Market- and Domestic Economy as well as Food- and Service Marketing. And so much more.
As I commenced my studies in the summer of 2011 in Bernburg (Eastern Germany), I knew I had a fascination for food and nutrition. When I reflect on that time today though, I do wonder if I was really aware of how big the extent of my enthusiasm was. Or maybe it was not fully developed just then.
After university I worked in a psychosomatic clinic with patients with eating disorders. I also coach people that wish for help on their way to a healthier diet and lifestyle. In my spare time, I play the violin, the viola, the piano as well as some guitar and sing way too loud to my favourite songs on the radio. Much to my husband’s delight I am passionate about cooking and baking. Cookbooks are my favourite bed-time-stories. They serve as terrific inspiration.
Something occupies my mind quite a bit: The quest for a healthy, ecologically maintainable diet. I have only one body, and I want to treat it well, just as much as my environment. So when I will stand before God one day, I want to be able to tell Him wholeheartedly, that I used the resources He gave me wisely and conscientiously.
